The History of America's Environmental Movement documentary series will be part of a campaign to promote action on environmental issues. By providing a historical perspective, this project will provide a context and foundation for understanding the issues we face today. The series will be broadcast widely, and also offered to environmental organizations as an educational and fundraising tool. Outreach efforts will include working with television stations to broadcast information about their local environmental organizations. This series companion web site will offer complete scripts, clips, references, and a comprehensive listing of links to environmental organizations, contacts for speakers, publications, and ways for people to get involved at a grassroots level.

Working with environmental organizations nationwide, the project team plans to expand outreach activities to a large, diverse general audience. The film and outreach activities will promote the message that the environmental issues we face today are critical and immediate, transcending political and social boundaries.
